Portugal 1986 - Mendes

Apresento hoje a terceira camisola de Fernando Mendes que se encontra na minha colecção. Trata se do modelo que foi utilizado pela Selecção depois do Mundial 1986. Estas camisolas podem se distinguir pelas estruturas diferentes do tecido que parecem barras.
O jogo em que foi utilizada foi o jogo de apuramento para o Euro 88 contra a Suiça. Fica para assinalar que mesmo o seleccionador suiço teve que admitir que o jogo em Berna parecia um encontro fora de casa devido ao apoio de milhares Portugueses residentes no estrangeiro.

Today I have the pleasure to present the third shirt of Fernando Mendes  in my possession. It is the model used after the WC 1986 by our National Team. You can recognize them by the different structures of the cloth that make it look like bars on the shirt.
The match in that it was used was the qualifier for the Euro 88 vs. Switzerland. Leaves me to mention that even the Swiss coach had to admit that the match seemed to have been played away from home due to the fact that thousands of Portuguese supporters cheered for their team at Bern Wankdorf stadium.
