Hoje começou o
Mundial 2010
na África do Sul.
Por isso quero aproveit
ar a
oportunidade para
apresentar uma camisola de um
Mundial passado.
Esta camisola foi utilizada por Augusto Soares Inácio durante o
Mundial de 1986
no México.
Ainda antes de o
torneio começar, o "
Caso Saltillo"
quase fazia para que o
sonho do Mundial terminasse antes de
os jogadores terem dado o
primeiro toque na bola.
A
delegação portuguesa chegou ao México quase um
mês antes de o
torneio começar por razões de
adaptação à
altitude e preparação para o torneio
mas não encontrou as condições de
treino esperadas.
Para mais os jogadores ameaçaram fazer greve se os montantes das
diárias e
os prémios de
jogo não fossem renegociados. Esse
caso até deu para ser discutido na Assembleia da
República,
tal como no país inteiro.
Afinal os jogadores não entraram em greve e
até começaram muito bem,
com uma vitória sobre a
poderosa Inglaterra.
Foi um
dia de
festa em que até participaram os jogadores derrotados ingleses.
Mas a
festa não se deve fazer antes do fim,
porque já poucos dias depois houve a
derrota contra a
Polónia e
no último jogo,
em que nos bastava empatar,
perdemos 1:3
contra o
Marrocos.
Augusto Inácio foi defesa que iniciou a
sua carreira no Sporting
em 1976.
Transferiu-
se para o FC Porto
em 1982.
Já dois anos depois jogou a
sua primeira Final
Europeia contra a
Juventus,
ainda perdida,
para três anos mais tarde finalmente erguer a
Taça dos Campeões Europeus em Viena.
Ele sagrou-
se Campeão Nacional por 5
vezes e
ganhou 4
Taças.
Na Selecção estreiou-
se em 1976 e
disputou o
seu último jogo contra o
Marrocos no Mundial de 1986.
Foi chamado 25
vezes.
Agora apenas me falta uma camisola do Mundial de 1966
para ter uma camisola de
todos os torneios em que Portugal
participou.
Veremos se qualquer dia conseguirei alguma.
Today was
the kick-
off at the 2010 WC in
South Africa. I
would like to take the opportunity to display a
shirt worn in
one of the past WC.
This shirt was
worn by Augusto Soares Inácio during the 1986 WC in
Mexico.
The tournament didn´t
even start when it was
about to end for the portuguese team due to the so
called "
Saltillo case".
The portuguese delegation arrived in
Saltillo,
Mexico,
about a
month before the start of the WC
to adopt to the altitude and to prepare for the WC.
The conditions at the training gounds were far from being ideal
and many things went wrong.
Matches that had been arranged between the portuguese and some mexican teams were cancelled etc.
As if it couldn´t
get worse the portuguese players threatened to strike if bonuses and daily recompensations weren´t
adjusted.
In
the end Portugal
started at the WC
and did very good in
the first match with a victory vs. England.
It was a
day to celebrate and so
they did in
their hotel and even the english players took part.
Nevertheless a
party should be celebrated at the end and the bill came just a
few days later when Bento broke his fibula in
training and worse was
about to come.
The next two matches were lost
and Portugal
exit the WC
after the group stage.

Lisbon and moved to FC Porto in 1982. Just
two years later he played his first European Final, lost
to Juventus. In 1987
he finally lifted "
The Kop". He
won five Championships and four cups.
In
the National Team
he was
capped 25
times.
His first appereance was in 1976
and his last was vs.
Morrocco during the 1986 WC.
The shirt presented nearly completes my collection of Portugal
shirts of all
major tournaments. A
shirt of the 1966 WC
is the last
piece missing.
Maybe one day i will
be lucky to own one.

Sem dúvida alguma um bom lateral esquerdo.Gostava de voltar a ver Inácio a treinar uma grande equipa.Gosto de Inácio,não vai em caldinhos,talvez por isso está onde está.
