Hoje, pela primeira vez, tenho o prazer de apresentar uma camisola de uma jogadora do S.L.Benfica.
Christy Ucheibe nasceu a 25 de Dezembro 2000 em Kano na Nigeria. Como rapariga que viveu numa casa conservadora, não foi bem visto que jogava futebol com os rapazes. Teve que se impor a régras que não queria aceitar e diz ela que isso a tornou mais forte.
Foi descoberta por olheiros e cedo foi chamada para a Seleção der Juniores do país natal. Representou a Nigéria no Mundial Feminino Sub17 em 2016 e em 2018 foi chamada para os Sub20.
Representou a equipa Nazarawa Amazons no país natal, mas depois de uma curta estadía na Suécia em 2019, assinou contrato com o Benfica em Fevreiro 2020, justamente antes Covid.
Teve a sua estreia apenas na época seguinte, mas logo foi uma das mais utilizadas jogadoras do plantel.
A sua polivalência é um dos seus pontos fortes, juntamente com o seu físico. Ela tanto pode ser média como defesa central, posição que geralmente ocupa no Benfica.
Entra este ano na sua quinta época, sendo que foi campeã em todas anteriores. Na época passada foi peça fundamental na equipa que conseguiu conquistar todos quatro títulos domésticos, e, para mais, chegar aos quartos de finais da Liga dos Campeões Feminina. Um feito que foi conseguido pela primeira vez por uma equipa portuguesa.
A camisola apresentada foi utilizada por ela num jogo da Liga dos Campeões. Obrigado Christy e tudo de bem para o futuro.

Today i have the peasure and honour to present the first womens shirt here on the blog. It´s a shirt worn by our player Christy Ucheibe.
Christy was born on 25th of December 2000 in Kano/Nigeria. As a girl she had to fight for her right to play football, as it was not really a common sports for girls. At home she faced opposition by the parents, who didn`t want her to continue. But she had the support of her brother and she said that all the circumstances made her even stronger.
She was discovered by talent scouts and called to represent her country at the 2016 U17 World Cup and two years later on U20 level again. At that time she already played for Nazarawa Amazons before moving to Sweden in 2019. Somehow it didn`t work out and Benfica took the opportunity to sign the young talent in early 2020. Her debut was only in the following season but soon she became a regularly used player and has now far more than 100 matches for us.
Her main assets are her versatiliy and physis. She can either play a role as a midfielder or in the defense. Latter one is her usual position at Benfica.
She just started her fifth season with Benfica, being champion in every one before. Last year was the most successful where she helped the team grab up all four domestic titles and reaching the quarter finals of the UWCL.
The shirt is out of a known match of last years UWCL.
