Novidades nas camisolas/ news on the shirts

During the last World Cup they appeared for the first time: small patches on the sleeves of certain players, that one could barely see. They were awarded for several reasons: debut at a WC, winners of either golden glove, boot or ball in a former WC, and last but not least, the Legacy patch for players who played in 5 or more WC, and that only happened to three active players: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer.

Liga Portugal decided to do the same and introduced a few patches for different individual achievments during the previous season. These are: MVP, best scorer and best goalkeeper. All of them exist in two versions: golden for the Premier League and silver for the second League. There is one more patch, that is the Legacy patch, for 200+ matches in the Liga Portugal or more than 300 professional matches, or if you won one of the afore mentioned individual titles.

At Benfica in this season 26/27, only Rafa is eligible to use this patch on his sleeve for having played more than 200 matches in Liga Portugal.
