Portugal 1995 - Secretario



Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Secretário nasceu a 12 de Maio 1970 em São João da Madeira. A sua formação obteve em três clubes, que representou entre 1984 e 1988. Foram esses o Sanjoanense, o Sporting e o FC Porto.
O primeiro contrato profissional assinou pelo Gil Vicente em 1988, que então atuava na Segunda Liga. Começou a jogar como médio e um ano mais tarde mudou-se para o Penafiel, onde permaneceu duas épocas. Para a época de 91/92 transferiu-se para o Famalicão e um ano mais tarde para o SC Braga.
Na época seguinte voltou para o Porto e estableceu se na zona direita da defesa. Logo durante a época inaugural ajudou vencer a Taça de Portugal e a Supertaça. Seguiram-se mais dois campeonatos antes do Real Madrid o contratar em 1996. Ele nunca se conseguiu impor na capital espanhola e com apenas 13 jogos disputados, voltou um ano mais tarde para o Porto.
Nos anos seguintes juntou mais Campeonatos, Taças e Supertaças, 4 de cada, ao seu curriculo. Mas os momentos mais altos certamente foram as conquistas da Taça UEFA e da Liga dos Campeões em 2003 e 2004, mesmo tendo sido suplente de Paulo Ferreira. Deixou o Porto depois do seu maior successo da carreira e jogou mais uma época para o Maia, antes de pendurar as chuteiras em 2005.
Em total ele disputou 341 jogos na Primeira Liga e conquistou 18 titulos.
Secretário também representou Portugal durante muitos anos e 35 ocasiões. A camisola apresentada foi utilizada por ele durante o jogo contra Dinamarca, que deu a Portugal o primeiro título a nível de seniores, a Skydome Cup.

Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Secretário was born on May 12th, 1970 in São João da Madeira. He got his formation at tree clubs during the period of 1984-1988. The clubs mentioned were Sanjoanense, Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto.
His first professional contract tied him to the northern portuguese club Gil Vicente, that played in the second division in 1988. Starting as a midfielder, a year later he was transferred to premier divison club Penafiel where he stayed two years before signing for Famalicão in 1991, and another year later to SC Braga.
In 1993 he returned to Porto where he constantly played as a right defender. During his first season he won the Cup and the Supercup. The following season he added a Championship and another one in 1996. Real Madrid signed him in summer of 1996 but he never managed to have a breakthrough, and 1,5 years later he returned to Porto.
The following years he added more Championships, Cups and Supercups, 4 of each, to his CV. But the highlights in his carreer were the UEFA Cup and the Champions League in two back to back years before leaving the club and playing one more season at Maia. In 2005 he ended his 17 year long carreer, having played 341 first division matches, and won 18 titles.
Secretário also represented Portugal on 35 occasions. The shirt shown above was worn by him during the match vs Denmark, for the Skydome Cup in 1995. It was the first title Portugal won on a senior level.
