Benfica 2016 - Victor Lindelöf

Victor Nilsson Lindelöf nasceu a 17 de Julho 1994 em Västras na Suécia. Começou a jogar futebol, representando varios clubes da região da sua cidade natal. Em 2010 fez o seu primeiro jogo pela equipa principal do Västeras SK e fez parte da equipa que conseguiu a promoção para o segundo escalão do país.
Com a sua contratação em Dezembro de 2011, o Benfica voltou confirmar a sua aposta na juventude e, como mais tarde se viu, a sua competência no recrutamento de novos talentos. Inícialmente contratado para reforçar as equipas juniores do Benfica, logo se sagrou Campeão de Portugal com os Juniores A. Seguiram-se épocas ao serviço da equipa B, mas mesmo assim, também foi chamado à equipa pricipal de vez em quando. A primeira vez isso aconteceu em Outubro 2013 num jogo para a Taça de Portugal.
O seu trabalho constante fez dele uma peça fundamental para a equipa B e mesmo a nível internacional foi um jogador importante da equipa que se sagrou Campeã Europeia Sub21 em 2015, batendo na Final Portugal, e assim também alguns dos seus colegas no clube.
Mesmo assim não conseguiu impor-se contra a concorrência da equipa principal, e assim ja estava prevista uma transferência para o Middlesborough no inverno de 2015/16. A sua sorte foi a infelicidade de Lisandro Lopez que se lesionou numa desclocação ao Moreirense, onde saltou do banco e convenceu com muita frieza no centro da defesa. A alcunha "Iceman" apareceu ao longo da época, onde as suas qualidades podiam ser apreciadas todos os fins de semana e mereceu muitos elogios.
Ao fim da temporada 2015/16, somaram-se 13 vitórias em 14 jogos e o titulo, ao ultrapassar o Sporting na recta final da época.
Seguiu-se mais um titulo de Campeão na época seguinte, antes de do Benfica decidir ceder o seu passe à troca de €35m ao Manchester United, onde aínda hoje joga.
A camisola apresentada foi do jogo para a Supertaça 2016 contra o SC Braga.

Victor Nilsson Lindelöf was born on 17th July 1994 in the swedish city of Västras. He started playing football, representing various clubs in the region of his hometown, before having had his first call for the senior team of Västras SK in 2010.
With his signing in December 2011, Benfica not only confirmed its commitment to invest into the youth, but also his competence in scouting new talents. This, of course, only was clear at a later stage.
Initially signed to be incorporated in the U19 team, he helped it winning the Portugese Championship in his first year.
He became regular first call to the second team of Benfica, playing in the second division, in the following years, but also was called ocasionally to represent the first team. This happened for the first time in October 2013 for a Cup match.
His constant hard work made him a fundamental player of his team, but even at international level, he was an important piece of the team that won the 2015 U21 European Championship, beating Portugal in the Final, and so, some of his teammates.
Even though, he couldn`t make it against the heavy competition in the first team, and a eventual move to Middlesborough was being talked in the Winter Transfer Period of 2015/16. The misfortune of Lisandro Lopez in a league match, shortly before the close of the transferperiod, turned out to be his lucky moment. He came from the bench and his cool minded style later earned him the name "Iceman". He played all the matches to the end of the season and helped winnig 13 out of 14 matches to outperform Sporting on the home stretch.
The following season was his last for Benfica, as the club agreed with Manchester United on a transfer for the sum of €35m.

Portugal 2016 - André Gomes

André Filipe Tavares Gomes nasceu em Grijó a 30 de Julho 1993. Passou pelas camadas jovens do Porto, Boavista e Benfica e estreou-se a jogar pela equipa principal do Benfica dia 28 de Julho 2012, mas permanecendo na Equipa B durante a época. Mesmo assim, o médio central foi aparecendo na equipa prinicpal e assim acabou a sua primeira época como senior com 9 jogos pela B e 17 jogos na A.
Na sua segunda época ja foi a jogo 23 vezes pela equipa principal marcando dois golos. Um deles ficou para a história e ainda hoje qualquer Benfiquista se lembra desse toque de magia, em que passou a bola por cima do defesa portista na grande área e a afundou na baliza, sem dar possibilidade ao guarda redes. Foi o golo que deu ao Benfica a Final da Taça e mais tarde o triplete inédito.
Em 2014 foi emprestado ao Valencia e mais tarde contratado pelo clube espanhol. Seguiram se duas épocas menos felizes no Barcelona, antes de ser emprestado ao Everton em 2018, onde conseguiu realçar a sua carreira, jogando regularmente. Este ano assinou contrato valido por cinco épocas com os Toffees.
Ontem foi vitima de uma falta dura, batendo num adversário o que resultou numa fratura do tornozelo. Ficam aqui os meus votos de melhoras e muita força para a recuperação. Voltarás mais forte!
Em 2016 foi Campeão Europeu por Portugal.

André Filipe Tavares Gomes was born on 30th of July 1993 in Grijó nearby Porto. He went through the youth systems of Porto, Boavista and Benfica before having his first match for the senior team of Benfica on 28th of July 2012. Despite being linked to the second team, he had 17 matches played for the first team, while playing 9 times for the B`s.
In his second season 2013/14 he played 23 times for Benfica`s first team, scoring twice. One of these goals will never be forgotten as it sent Benfica to the Cup Final and consequently achieving the first treble in club history.
In the following season he was loaned to Valencia and later signed by it. Afterwards he had a less lucky spell of two seasons at Barcelona before being loaned to Everton in 2018. He gained confidence and was a regular call on the pitch. He sigend a five year contract last summer.
Yesterday he was victim of a foul and a crash into an opposite player that resulted in a fracture dislocation to his ankle. All the best André! Forca...

Benfica Shirt 2016/17

Foram divulgados os novos equipamentos do Benfica para a época 2016/17.

As maiores alteracoes, em termos de desenho, podem ser vistas na camisolas principal. A fornecedora Adidas mudou as três riscas habituais, dos ombros para o tronco. Essa novidade ja pode ser vista em vários equipamentos da marca alema durante o Euro.

De resto o tecido da camisola principal tem como dois tons vermelhos colocados em barras sobre a frente. Na alternativa acontece o mesmo com a cor preta.

O que quase todos equipamentos alternativos de equipas europeias têm em comum, como inovacao, sao os emblemas dos clubes monocromaticos. O Benfica nao escapa a essa régra e assim pode se encontrar o emblema nas duas cores que dominam o equipamento.

Benfica's new kit for the 16/17 season has been presented .

Main changes happened to the 3stripes, that were placed on the sides of the body instead of arms.You can see this new design already  on many shirts of the german manufacturer during the  Euro 2016.

The colour of the shirt are two tones of red that have been put as horizontal stripes on the body. On the away shirt same happens to the black shirts. The details are neon-red.

Almost all new away shirts of european Top-clubs have in common, as innovation, the new monochromatic crest. Benfica doesn't escape to the rule and so you could see the crest in black/neon-red.

Tricampeão - Triple Champions Benfica 2016

Ontem o Benfica sagrou-se campeão nacional pela 35a vez e conseguiu o tricampeonato, 39 anos depois.
Para os Universo Benfiquista este titulo tem um sabor especial, ja que a equipa se viu confrontada com muitas dificuldades e mudanças. A primeira aconteceu quando Jorge Jesus decidiu trocar o Benfica pelo rival da 2a circular. Essa decisão criou muita polémica, não só entre os adeptos, mas também entre os clubes e os dirigentes, que levaram a rivalidade a um novo nível lamentavel. Um dos jogadores com mais épocas no Benfica, Maxi Pereira, saiu do clube, rumo ao Porto e deixou mais uma grande vaga.
O novo treinador Rui Vitória teve que implantar a sua maneira de jogar e, sejamos honestos, no início não conseguiu alcançar as espectativas da massa associativa. Isso manifestou-se na disputa do primeiro titulo da época, a Supertaça, que o Benfica perdeu frente ao Sporting.
Na Liga as coisas igualmente não correram como desejado, e após da quinta jornada com ja duas derrotas e quatro pontos até ao lider, muita gente ja pedia a demissão de Rui Vitória.
Antes do natal a distância até ao topo somou-se para 7 pontos e com as dificuldades, que tinham aparecido, abriram-se outras oportunidades. O capitão Luisão lesionou-se num braço e regressou apenas em Abril 2016. Foi substituido por Lisandro Lopez, que o quase fez esquecer, até que também se lesionou. A terceira escolha foi Victor Lindelöf, da equipa B. Quem imaginava que esse rapaz se tornva num dos mais influencias jogadores da 2a volta o que lhe ganhou o nome "Iceman".
No meio campo a situação não foi muito melhor. Faltava um lider e assim Rui Vitoria recorreu-se aos Juniores onde tinha descobrido Renato Sanches que tinha brilhado na UEFA Youth League. Depois do jogo contra o Galatasaray, que foi ganho em terreno adversário, por 11:1, ele passou a ser titular na equipa principal.
Não chega que o Benfica teve muitos lesionados de campo. Antes do derbi da segunda mão contra Sporting, Julio César lesionou-se e teve que ser substituido por Ederson (mais um jogador da Equipa B). O jogo foi ganho por 1:0 em Alvalade e foi a ascensão ao primeiro lugar que nos restantes 9 jogos não perdemos mais.
Enquanto as provas nacionais não decorreram ao gosto dos benfiquistas, a Liga dos Campeões foi outro caso. Com todas as limitações que o Benfica teve conseguiu o feito de ser a unica equipa que bateu o Atletico em casa. Seguiram-se mais jogos sofridos, mas pouco a pouco a equipa conseguiu ganhar a confiança e apurar-se para os quartos-finais contra o Bayern München. Muita gente esperava um massacre, mas afinal consegui-se uma derrota apenas por 0:1 fora e a esperança de passar na segunda mão. O 1:0 fez da Luz um inferno e isso sem jogadores castigados e mais improvisações. Ao fim so deu para um 2:2, mas o espirito benfiquista voou alto e deu força para os restantes jogos do Campeonato.
Ontem então o Benfica conseguiu uma expressa vitória por 4:1 e quando Luisão ergueu a Taça, os adeptos cairam em delirio.
Somando isto tudo, mais as lesões de Nelson Semedo que  foi substituido por André Almeida, ou os jogadores de banco que sempre cumpriram o seu dever, como Raul Jimenez, Anderson Talisca ou Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez, esta época foi uma reviravolta épica. Durante o ano até parecia que cada limitação nova deu um empurrão ao resto da equipa para se esforçar mais. Houve vários estreantes e todos eles estão de parabéns porque provaram que a aposta em nomes desconhecidos não implica fragilizar a equipa. Bem ao contrário, e ao fim até da a vantagem de ter incognitas para o adversário.
Mas o maior feito que notei foi a unidade entre no plantel. A calma e serenidade de Rui Vitoria transportou-se para os jogadores e assim conseguiu-se uma atmosfera relaxada mas confiante que inspirou todos. Durante um ano inteiro não se ouviram comentários negativos dos jogadores nem do staff. Todos estiveram focados numa meta só, ao contrario de outras equipas que tentaram ganhar campeonatos fora de campo.
Resta-me agradecer á equipa por uma época surpreendente e empolgante até ao ultimo dia. Foi a temporada mais memorável que me lembro!


Yesterday Benfica became Champion for the 35th time and won the triple Championship 39 years after.
For the Benfica supporters this title has a special taste, as the team saw themselves confronted with several changes and difficulties. First the coach changed grounds to hire for archrival Sporting. This created a lot of polemic, not just within the fans, but also the clubs and directors brought the rivalry to a new, deplorable level. One of the long term players, Maxi Pereira, left the club to play for rivals Porto and left a big gap.
The new coach, Rui Vitoria, had to implement a new methodology of playing, but, to be honest, he didn't meet the expectations of fans and bosses. This was perfectly seen when Benfica lost the first title of the season, the Supercup, to Sporting. In the League things didn't work well either and after matchday 5, with already two defeats and four points clear of the top, not few asked for dismissal of Rui Vitoria.
Until Christmas the distance to the leaders had sum up to seven points but with all the difficulties, new opportunities opened up.
Luisao, the captain, broke his arm and was ruled out until April 2016. He was substituted by Lisandro Lopez, who did a great work until he was injured, too. Third choice was Victor Lindelöf, of the second team. Who would have guessed that he became one of the most influential players of the second round and earned him the name "Iceman".
In the midfield the team missed a leader with strong physics and a good view for the best positioned teammate. Rui Vitoria found this kind of player in the Juniorteam where he had impressed many during the UEFA Youth League. Renato Sanches played his last match vs Galatasaray, where Benfica won the match on away soil by 11:1, and never was devolved back.
Not enough that the team suffered from the injuries of many field players. Ahead of the second leg derby vs Sporting, the keeper Julio Cesar was also injured and had to be replaced by second team keeper Ederson. The team won 1:0 away and ascended to first place. During the remaining 9 matches the team never lost this spot anymore.
While the national competitions weren't at the taste of the fans, the Champions League was different. With all limitations Benfica had to suffer from, they were the only ones to beat Atletico Madrid on home soil. Followed by some more hard fought matches, they reached the quarters where they met Bayern München. What was expected to be a massacre, ended in an 0:1 defeat away and the home match to follow. After the 1:0 hell broke loose. The final result was a 2:2 but the confidence gained and high flying spirits helped surviving the last matches of the League. Yesterday then, Benfica won with an expressive 4:1 and when Luisao clinched the Cup into Lisbons nightheaven, the fans went mad.
Summing all this up, and with more Injuries to mention, like the one of Nelson Semedo, who was well replaced by André Almeida, or all the subs that made a fantastic job when called, like Raul Jimenez, Anderson Talisca or Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez, this was an epic season. During the year every new setback seemed to be like a wake-up call for the rest of the team to work even harder and meet the expectations. There were a number of newcomers and all have to be contgratulated as the implementation of unknown players doesn't mean to weaken the team but to add an unknown factor for the opponent.
The biggest achievement i noticed was the unity within the team. Rui Vitorias serenity and relaxed way was felt by the team and created a very pleasant and inspiring working atmosphere. During the whole season there were no bad words or comments made outside the team. Everyone was focussed on one single objective, right to the opposite of other teams, that tried to win the Championship outside the pitch.
All i want to say is: Thank you, team for an surprising and thrilling season until the end. This was the most memorable i can remember.

Portugal 2016 away kit - Portugal 2016 equipamento alternativo

Fica aqui também o equipamento alternativo da Seleção portuguesa.
Desta vez um colorido completmente diferente do que se ja viu e assim sem comparação com equipamentos do passado, o que até hoje sempre foi uma fonte de ideias para a Nike.
Temos assim uma cor turquesa a dar nas vistas. Tal como o equipamento principal, também este equipamento tem dois tons diferentes, com o mais escuro, em azul-petróleo, ser utilizado nos ombros. Na gola encontra se um acente azul em volta.
Os calções são da mesma cor turquesa e as meias azuis como na gola.


Above shown, is the new Portugal 2016 away shirt. This time in a completely new colourway. So this time there will be no reminiscene to past shirts, that always have been a fountain of inspiration for the designers.
This shirt uses a teal colourway for the body and a darker shade of it for the shoulders, while a blue stripe can be found around the collar. The same navy colour will be used for the socks, while the shorts will be teal coloured.

Portugal 2016 home kit - Portugal 2016 equipamento principal

A Seleção de Portugal irá, amanhã no jogo contra a Bulgaria, estrear os novos equipamentos principais, que ao mesmo tempo serão as cores para o Euro 2016 na França.
Como habitual os equipamentos serão fornecidos pela Nike, que desta vez optou por não utilizar riscas, mas continua a utilizar dois tons de vermelho. A parte dos ombros fica um pouco mais escura e com verde em volta da gola. O verde também é a cor escolhida para as meias, enquanto os calções são vermelhos.

Portugal National Team will launch its new home kits tomorrow, during a friendly vs. Bulgaria.
As usual Nike will be the outfitter, but this time not using a striped outfit. Instead there will be two main colours, both using different shades of red, the lighter one on the body and the shoulders a bit darker. As a contrast, the collar will have a green stripe.
The shorts use the same light red as the jersey and the green socks complement the jersey.
