Benfica 2020 - Rafa Silva

No início da nova época viro-me para a época passada, que tanto deixou a desejar e que apesar da pandemia foi uma das mais desastrosas do recente passado. Isso não se deveu apenas aos resultados desportivos, mas também à confusão vindo do descontentamento dos adeptos com assuntos dentro da estrutura do clube. 

Fora disso também se jogou futebol e hoje tenho o prazer de apresentar uma camisola de Rafa Silva. Ele nasceu a 17 de Maio 1993 em Forte da Casa. Iniciou a sua carreira em 2002 e teve como equipas de formação o Povoense, Alverca e Feirense. Foi pelo clube de Sta. Maria da Feira que tembém lançou a sua carreira como profissional em 2012. Após uma época como titular indiscutível, ele foi contratado pelo SC Braga em 2013 onde se tornou peça fundamental para o successo do clube com duas Finais da Taça consecutivas, terminando a segunda como vencedor. 

Em 2016, e tendo dispertado o interesse do Benfica, ele transferiu-se para a capital por uma verba de ca 16m €, o que foi uma das contratações mais caras até lá. Destancando-se pela sua velocidade e capacidade de drible, foi uma arma de desequilibrio principalmente pela ala direita. Mesmo assim demorou até à época 2018/19 antes de se destacar como finalizador regular. Marcou 17 golos nessa época e foi fundamental na reviravolta da equipa de Bruno Lage que valeu o 37° titulo de campeão. 

Como internacional desde 2014, ele sagrou-se Campeão da Europa e foi vencedor da Liga das Nações em 2019.

A camisola apresentada foi preparada para ele para o jogo contra o seu antigo clube SC Braga e tem a particularidade de não mostrar o nome do jogador, mas um apelo contra o racismo que teve lugar no "Dia Internacional contra a Discriminação Racial" em jogos da primeira e segunda Liga. 

At the beginning of the new season i take the opportunity to look back on a season that left a lot to be desired. It was a season without silverware and with results clearly behind the expected. Furthermore disturbances from inside of the club didn`t help to calm down the team.

Nevertheless i have the pleasure to present a shirt of Rafa Silva who was born on 17th od May, 1993 in Forte da Casa. After having spent his youth stages at Povoense, Alverca and Feirense, he started his professional carrer at the latter club in 2012. After an excellent season for him, he was signed by Braga in the following year, where he matured to become a influential player. His main carecteristics are his speed and ability on dribblings. It helped the club to reach the Portuguese Cup Final in 2015 and 2016, winning it in 2016. 

Benfica payed one of the highest transfer fees until then by signing him for more then €16m in the same year. He continued to be a thread on the wings but only found his striking abilities in the memorable 18/19 season, when Benfica sarted second in the return round with 7 points behind Porto, but winning all games but one draw, sent them to win the title. He scored 17 goals in that season and had a huge portion in the outcome of the season.

On international basis he was part of the 2016 European Champion Team and won the 2019 edition of the Nations League.

The shirt was prepared for him and bears the particularity that it doesn`t show the name of the player, but a anti racism slogan that was used on the "International Day for the elimination of Racial Discrimination" by the teams of the first and second League in Portugal.

Portugal 2020 - Ruben Dias

Ja tinha resumido um pouco a carreira profissional de Rúben Dias neste post. Por isso não me irei repetir, mas juntar mais alguns dados recentes. 

Depois de ir para o Manchester City, Rúben Dias retomou o seu papel como figura líder, que ja tinha indo desempenhando nos seus ultimos tempos enquanto jogador do S.L.B. As suas prestações em campo ajudaram para que também os seus companheiros aceitaram essa posição, e assim ele, apesar de estar num país novo e desconhecido, ja agora parece ser uma peça indispensável no sistema de jogo do seu clube actual. A imprensa está rendida à sua qualidade, que nós benfiquistas sentimos muita falta, e vê nele, mesmo sendo tão novo, o sucessor nato de Vincent Kompany. 

Na seleção ele vai crescendo cada vez mais e, igual como no seu clube, é um jogador fundamental para garantir a continuidade dela. Ha pessoas que vêm nele um futuro líder dentro e fora do campo. 

A camisola apresentada é especial porque se trata da sua camisola com qual marcou os seus primeiros golos pela seleção. Sim, não foi apenas um golo, mas um bi que apontou como defesa central num só jogo. Obrigado por cumprir a palávra com a camisola e tudo de bem para o futuro.

I alreday recapped a bit about the carreer of Rúben Dias in this post, so i will add only a bit about the recent past in this one.

After having signed with Manchester City, it didn`t take too long to rise as a leader on the pitch, that he was already when he left Benfica last summer. His constantly good results in matches helped that his teammates accept his leadership functions, and despite him being new to a country and club, it looks as if he is already an essential piece in the playing tactics of the team. Even the press praises his skills and quality and calls him the (possible) successor of Vincent Kompany.

In the national team he eveloves more and more and already is a fundamental player to his coach Fernando Santos. There are people that see him a possible leader of the team in the future.

The shirt is quite special as it is the one in which he scored his first goals for the national team. Right, i said goals, as he did not only score one, but two. Not bad for a central defender.

Portugal Home Kit 2020

O habitualmente bem informado site Footyheadlines avançou com as imagens do novo equipamento de Portugal para o Euro 2020. O design corresponde ao que ja se viu das outras equipas fornecidas pela marca norte americana. Assim encontram-se riscas em zigue zague na parte lateral e as cores (verde-vermelho-preto) repetem-se nos punhos.
A maior novidade é o colarinho tipo Polo. A Nike ja tinha utilizado botões no equipamento alternativo de 2014, mas com um colar mais subtil.
Os números e Nomes continuarão a ser dourados.

Usually well informed site Footyheadlines, leaked the new Portugal home kit for the 2020 Euro.
The design features some of the elements of the new template used on other kits aswell. The zig-zag stripes on the side can be found on other shirts, too.
The main eyecatcher might be the Poloshirt look of the collar. Even though buttons are not new (Portugal away kit 2014 had them), the collar was more subtle then.
Numbers and names will remain golden.
