Portugal 1996 - Calado

No jogo de estreia para Calado com a camisola da Selecção, foi titular na primeria partida para Portugal do torneio triangular. No jogo contra o anfitrião Canadá bastou um empate com o sabor a mais para cimentar as ambições de vencer a Taça.
Mais tarde a nossa Selecção venceu contra a Dinamarca e "arrecadou" o trofeio. O Skydome Cup de 1995 foi o único título, a nivel de seniores, conquistado por Portugal.
Calado apenas teve quatro aparencias pela Selecção A. Mas em 1996 fez parte da equipa que foi 4a classificada nos Jogos Olimpicos em Atlanta.
A medalha apresentada é uma que os jogadores recebem pela FPF por cada jogo em que representam Portugal.

Calado was in the starting line-up on his debut. In the match vs the hosts Canada a draw was sufficient to keep the focus on winning the tournament.
Later during the tournament Portugal beat Denmark by 1:0 and won the only title on senior level for Portugal.
Calado was capped only four times for Portugals first team. In 1996 he played during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta where the team ended 4th.

Portugal 2016 away kit - Portugal 2016 equipamento alternativo

Fica aqui também o equipamento alternativo da Seleção portuguesa.
Desta vez um colorido completmente diferente do que se ja viu e assim sem comparação com equipamentos do passado, o que até hoje sempre foi uma fonte de ideias para a Nike.
Temos assim uma cor turquesa a dar nas vistas. Tal como o equipamento principal, também este equipamento tem dois tons diferentes, com o mais escuro, em azul-petróleo, ser utilizado nos ombros. Na gola encontra se um acente azul em volta.
Os calções são da mesma cor turquesa e as meias azuis como na gola.


Above shown, is the new Portugal 2016 away shirt. This time in a completely new colourway. So this time there will be no reminiscene to past shirts, that always have been a fountain of inspiration for the designers.
This shirt uses a teal colourway for the body and a darker shade of it for the shoulders, while a blue stripe can be found around the collar. The same navy colour will be used for the socks, while the shorts will be teal coloured.

Portugal 2016 home kit - Portugal 2016 equipamento principal

A Seleção de Portugal irá, amanhã no jogo contra a Bulgaria, estrear os novos equipamentos principais, que ao mesmo tempo serão as cores para o Euro 2016 na França.
Como habitual os equipamentos serão fornecidos pela Nike, que desta vez optou por não utilizar riscas, mas continua a utilizar dois tons de vermelho. A parte dos ombros fica um pouco mais escura e com verde em volta da gola. O verde também é a cor escolhida para as meias, enquanto os calções são vermelhos.

Portugal National Team will launch its new home kits tomorrow, during a friendly vs. Bulgaria.
As usual Nike will be the outfitter, but this time not using a striped outfit. Instead there will be two main colours, both using different shades of red, the lighter one on the body and the shoulders a bit darker. As a contrast, the collar will have a green stripe.
The shorts use the same light red as the jersey and the green socks complement the jersey.

Benfica 2011 - Nemanja Matic

Nemanja Matic, nascido a dia 1 de Agosto 1988 em Sabac na Jugoslavia, chegou ao Benfica em 2011. Essa transferência fez parte num negocio em que o Chelsea FC levou David Luiz para Stamford Bridge.
A sua historia começou no seu país natal onde foi formado no Radnicki Obrenovac a partir de 1997. Seguiram se passagens pela Estrela Vermelha e o Partizan, antes de iniciar uma carreira como profissional no Kolubara em 2005. Pouco utilizado, transferiu-se para o Kosice na Eslovaquia em 2007 onde começou a dar nas vistas. Isso levou o Chelsea a contrata-lo em 2009 por 1.5m Libras.
Na Inglaterra não se conseguiu adaptar bem, ja que tinha vindo lesionado do Campeaonato Europeu Sub21. Por isso decidiu-se empresta-lo ao Vitesse Arnheim da Holanda no início da época 2010/11. Foi aí que foi utilizado mais regularmente, num total de 27 partidas, antes de ir para Lisboa.
No iníco o seu lugar como médio defensivo ainda esteve "tapado" por Javi Garcia, que era titular indiscutível. Mas já na primeira época completa de 2011/12 as lesões de Garcia deram lhe oportunidades para provar o seu talento, e ele aproveitou bem. Também com a saída de Javi Garcia à vista, ele tornou se cada vez mais importante e peça chave no sistem de jogo de Jorge Jesus. Quando a saída de Javi Garcia para o Manchester City foi concluida, Matic não deixou mais de ser titular enquanto pôde jogar.
Mas a sua qualidade voltou a criar interesse nos seus serviços e assim, que coincidência, ele voltou para o Chelsea em 2014, mas não sem o clube londrino ter de embolsar 25m€.
Ele até hoje permanece em Londres ao serviço do Chelsea.
No Benfica ele ajudou o clube a ganhar a Taça da Liga em 2012 e foi fundamental na época 2013/14 a conquistar o titulo de Campeão e a Taça de Portugal. Para mais ele jogou na Final da Liga Europa 2013 em Amsterdão.
Como o Benfica volta a marcar presença nos Quartos de Final da Champions League, decidi colocar esta camisola no blog. Ela foi utilizada por Matic duranta a última presença do clube nessa fase em 2012 contra o Chelsea.

Nemanja Matic, born on Aug 1st, 1988 in Sabac/Yugoslavia, arrived at Benfica in early 2011, as a part of deal involving David Luiz on his move to Chelsea.
His career started at Radnicki Obrenovac in 1997 where he was formed, before moving on to Red Star Belgrade and Partizan. He became professional in 2005 for Kolubara and moved on to Kosice in Solvakia in 2007. Chelsea discovered him there and signed him in 2009.
Matic had a tough time at Stamford Bridge as he arrived injured from the U21 European Championship and faced strong competition on his position. So the club decided to loan him at the beginning of 2010/11 season to dutch club Vitesse Arnheim. Finally there he could show his talents and abilities and was used frequently until his involvement in the David Luiz deal, early 2011.
At the beginning he again faced strong competition and was only second choice after Javi Garcia. But already during his first full season at Benfica he took advantages of Garcia's injuries and showed his impact. Then, with Garica's looming move to Manchester City he became more influential.
At the beginning of 2014 he moved back to Chelsea for a sum of €25m. He still plays for Chelsea.
During his time in Lisbon he won a League Cup in 2012 and helped the club win the Championship and Cup in 2014. Furthermore he played the EL Final 2013 against his later club Chelsea.
As Benfica again plays a Quarter Final in the Champions League, for the first time since 2012, i decided to put on this shirt up for display. It was used by him precisely in the home match against Chelsea during the QF.

Portugal 1983 Training

Este tipo de camisolas, pelas informacões que pude encontrar, foi apenas utilizado em treinos. Trata se de um modelo que foi produzido entre 1983 e 1984. Existe aínda um outro modelo vermelho com listas brancas e gola diferente que foi a versão de mangas curtas.
A camisola é o modelo prinicpal da camisola alternativa que apresentei aqui algum tempo atrás.

This type of shirts, as of my information, was only used for training purposes. It's a model that was produced between 1983 and 1984. There is another similar model with white stripes and a different type of collar that had short sleeves.
The shown shirt is the home version of the green away shirt that i posted here some time ago.

Benfica 2007 - Oscar Cardozo

Já me referi a Oscar Cardozo durante os posts passados e por isso apenas quero deixar aqui alguma informacão que aínda não publiquei ou que entretanto alterou.
Oscar Cardozo deixou o Benfica no fim da época 2013/14 depois de uma época que foi marcada em princípio pela sua lesão, que o deixou fora dos relvados por dois mêses e meio.
Durante as sete épocas no Benfica ele tornou se provavelmente o melhor jogador estrangeiro do clube. Foi seis vezes o melhor marcador da equipa (apenas não o consegui na sua última época) e por duas vezes ganhou a bola de prata. Em total ele disputou 292 jogos (175 na Liga) e marcou 172 golos (112 na Liga), o que o põe em primeiro lugar dos marcadores estrangeiros.
Ele ganhou dois Campeonatos e uma Taça de Portugal. Para mais ele disputou duas Finais da Liga Europa e é o segundo melhor marcador do Benfica na Europa.
Mesmo tendo sido criticado pela falta de velocidade, ele é uma lenda do clube. A maneira como ele representou e sentiu (e sente) o clube, dentro e fora do relvado, foi exemplar e com muita dedicação e paixão. Lembro-me dele a ser um dos homens a transportar o caixão de Eusébio para o cemitério e chorar tanto... Ou depois da Final da Taça de Portugal 2013, que perdemos frente ao Guimarães, onde ele, certamente com muito fervor e indignação, culpou Jorge Jesus por erros táticos.
Foi uma honra tê-lo visto jogar e saber que ele levou o Benfica no coração. Eu acho que mais tarde, vamos contar histórias, sobre ele e o que fez pelo Benfica, aos nossos netos...

I alredy gave some data about Oscar Cardozo in previous posts, why i will only add new information or where data changed.
Oscar Cardozo left Benfica at the end of the 2013/14 season for a fee of €5m for Trabzobspor in Turkey. His las season was mainly marked by an absence of 2.5 months due to injury.
During his seven seasons at the club he was six times best scorer of the team and won the silver ball, for best scorer in Portugal, twice. He played 292 matches (175 in the league) and scored 172 goals (112 in the league). This makes out of him the best foreign scorer ever of Benfica.
He won the Championship twice and one Portuguese Cup. Furthermore he played two Europe League Finals and is the second best scorer for the club in european competitions.
Even he was much criticized for the lack of velocity he is a true Benfica legend. The way he represented and felt the club was spot on. I remember him being one of the men carrying Eusebios coffin to the cemetery and crying like a child... Another occasion e.g. was after the 2013 Cup Final where the attacked the coach (certainly due to disappointment) and blamed him for tactical errors.
It was an honour having seen him playing and knowing that he took the club in his heart. One day we'll be telling stories about him to our grand kids.

Procuro estas camisolas do Benfica e da Seleccao... / Want to buy these Benfica and Portugal shirts...

Como recentemente mostrei algumas camisolas dos anos passados, que procuro para a minha colecção, hoje refiro-me a camisolas mais antigas. Em principio sao isso camisolas dos anos 80 e das décadas anteriores. Sao as camisolas dos tempos que estão à beira de sobreviver os portadores, que mais me interessam.
Eu sou adepto e imagino o significado dos "mantos sagrados" para os jogadores. Sinto a paixão que se vive nos grandes momentos e a desilusão que segue aos menos bons. Sempre foi algo especial conseguir as camisolas que foram vestidas em momentos importantes. Pelo respeito por os jogadores que defenderam as nossas cores, aínda nunca vesti uma das camisolas que tenho na colecção. Guardo as e tento conserva-las para o futuro, tal como as histórias delas, se for possivel.
Por isso quero me dirigir diretamente a jogadores antigos, familiares e amigos, tal como adeptos que guardam essas camisolas e memórias consigo.
Se tiverem camisolas desses tempos (mesmo se não forem aqui mostradas) e por qualquer razão quizerem vender alguma, ou colecções, podem me contactar através do mail no meu pérfil. Se quizerem posso tratar o seu assunto confidencial, se não, algum dia aparecerão aqui, neste site.

As i recently showed some shirts i'm looking for, of the past few seasons, this time i would like to take the opportunity to go a little bit deeper into history and mention older shirts. The shirts i'm looking for are mainly out of the 80s and older. Shirts and jerseys that are now in an age where they survived the original holder of it, are the most fascinating for me.
I'm a fan and able to imagine the significance of the shirts for the players and the ones who swapped them. I feel the passion in great moments and the frustration in bad ones. It always was something special to get hold of a shirt and learn the story behind it. For the respect for those who wore them, i never tried one of the shirts on. I keep them safe for the future, as i do with the stories that i have been told about them.
For that reason i would like to ask former players, family members and friends, and fans that have such shirts or know of the stories.
